The Hinterland District pathway applies to all students 10-19 years old. Each year Hinterland trials are held to give young athletes the opportunity to gain selection into the representative school sports programs. To earn representative honours, students must first make the district team and then go on to South Coast Regional selection trials. South Coast teams compete at the various state championships.
South Coast Regional selection opportunities exist in the following sports. In general, there are three age brackets in which students can gain selection in District team sports - 12 Years & Under, 15 Years & Under and 19 Years & Under.
