News from our College Principal, Jo Sheehy

Welcome back to 2025
We hope that you had a wonderful holidays with all of your friends and family.
We are so excited to welcome all of our students and staff back to 2025.
It’s a year filled with wonderful new opportunities for us all to explore across the entire breadth of the year.
Our staff were back last week decorating all of their classrooms and doing their own professional learning in anticipation of our students returning this week.
We have got a few exciting developments across this year as well. Firstly, and I think that you will have seen it on social media, the finish of our Ninja Warrier playground for our Year 3 students and above. This is a very exciting development, just on our Winton Play area here. And of course, the finish of our rock and wood play area which is behind the Year 4 classrooms, which is another exciting play area for our students to partake in during the breaks and before and after school. Lots and lots of opportunities to see our new staff and of course our new families to the college with our first morning tea with our new Prep parents which is a wonderful opportunity for them to collaborate with their colleagues who are going to be with them on their journey for the next 13 years at our college. And of course, lots more opportunities to meet all of our college staff at our parents social evenings and that’s just coming up in the next few weeks here at our college. Of course, our Year 12 induction which always kicks the year off so beautifully to welcome our new Year 12 leaders to our school as well.
We are all really excited to see what this year brings and of course, looking forward to welcoming each of every one of you back to our college this year.
A.B. Paterson College was proudly featured in the commemorative publication The Commonwealth at 75, celebrating 75 years of the Commonwealth of Nations. I represented the College at the special launch event at Westminster Abbey, London, joining over 500 esteemed guests and dignitaries from across the Commonwealth.
Separately, the inaugural Foundation Gala Ball was a spectacular evening that we held last year, uniting our community in celebration and support.
