Year 12 Formal 2023
Congratulations Year 12!
On Saturday 25 February, the annual A.B. Paterson College Senior Formal was held at Links Hope Island. The vision of the Formal Committee came alive with woodland foliage, sparkling trees and star covered ceilings as their theme, Enchanted Forest, was encapsulated by the styling crew.
After spending the day preparing for what was sure to be an unforgettable evening, students commenced their arrivals in front of their friends and family at the grand entranceway to Links Hope Island. As the students exited their vehicles, there were cheers of excitement from their families as they made their way down the red carpet. The students looked incredible and were a vision of class and elegance as they made their way into the venue. Once all students had arrived, the Year 12s lined up with their partners and introduced themselves to Principal, Ms Joanne Sheehy before entering the Enchanted Forest inspired venue for the evening. There were gasps of awe as the students entered and found their seats taking great delight in the ‘Formal 2023’ cookies each student received.
After the evening was opened by College Captain, Naia-Rae Fenton, entrees were served, and students commenced a night spent on the dance floor as the DJ cranked the tunes and the Year 12s sang their hearts out to their favourite songs. This year’s Formal Dance, expertly choreographed by Emily Moretti to the song Wildest Dreams from Bridgerton, was exceptional. As the evening progressed, the students enjoyed capturing memories of this unforgettable night at the photo booth, with the evening ending with the entire cohort participating in a rendition of Good Old Days by Macklemore featuring Kesha. An epic conclusion to a night that the cohort will remember forever.
I would like to extend a special thank you to the exceptional Formal Committee, most notably Abbie Briant and Ava Young for all their hard work that went in behind the scenes and to Emily Moretti and Vipasha Rajkumar for their commitment and perseverance in teaching the grade the Formal Dance.
