Year 5 Term Highlights

As we wrap up another exciting term, it is time to reflect on the wonderful experiences and learning opportunities our Year 5 students have enjoyed. This term has been packed with activities that have not only enriched their academic knowledge but also fostered a sense of community and fun.

Colour Run

One of the most anticipated events of the term was the Colour Run. The energy was palpable as students, teachers, and parents gathered on the school grounds, ready to get splashed with vibrant colours. The event was not just about running; it was about celebrating health, happiness, and community spirit. Students ran through a course where they were doused with coloured powder at various stations, creating a rainbow of smiles and laughter. The Colour Run was a fantastic way to promote physical activity and teamwork, and it left everyone with unforgettable memories and some very colourful clothes!

Senior School Science Lab Visit

Our Year 5 scientists had the opportunity to visit the Senior School Science Lab for a hands-on experiment investigating states of matter, with a particular focus on the mass of gas. This visit was an eye-opener for many students as they embraced lab coats and safety goggles, ready to dive into the fascinating world of science. The experiment involved measuring the mass of gas produced in a chemical reaction, helping students understand that gases, although invisible, have mass and occupy space. This practical experience not only reinforced their classroom learning but also ignited a passion for scientific inquiry and experimentation. The students returned with a deeper appreciation for the scientific method and a newfound curiosity about the world around them.
