A number of our College students have embarked on the New Zealand tour to compete in the prestigious Global World Scholar's Cup (WSC) competition.
The World Scholar's Cup is an international academic event designed to inspire students to discover new knowledge, develop teamwork skills, and engage in debates and creative writing on a global scale.
The Global Rounds are major international events held in different cities, where students who have qualified through regional rounds come together to collaborate, compete, and learn from each other.
This year’s World Scholar's Cup Global Round in Auckland is one of these significant events, bringing together hundreds, if not thousands, of students from around the globe.
Here is what the week looked like at the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) competition in Auckland where a group of the College’s students got amazing results.
They participated in a Scavenger hunt where they found over 180 items out of the 200+ listed. During WSC rest day, the students toured Auckland where they were able to see Mount Eden, the highest volcano in Auckland as well as the Auckland Museum which acts as the War Memorial where ANZAC services are held. They also had the chance to relax and go bowling, ready to achieve more amazing results in the WSC.
Students had the chance to network and meet other students from Cambodia, New Zealand, Canada, Indonesia, Taiwan and Nepal. They learned about their cultures, tried food and drinks and learnt about schools in other countries.
On their final day they got the chance to visit Hobbiton, the movie set of The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies.
The students representing the college achieved 22 Gold Medals and 48 Silver Medals!
