She Leads Gold Coast Schools Summit for Girls

At the start of the term, a group of our Year 10 and 11 girls attended the inaugural She Leads Gold Coast Schools Summit for Girls, hosted by St Hilda Schools. The event was a powerful and inspiring opportunity designed for young women to come together and discuss the unique challenges faced by girls and young women today.

The event consisted of keynote speakers, interactive sessions and panel discussions involving leaders from a variety of industries that covered topics including gender biases, the need for greater equality, and building confidence, grit and resilience.

Our students were inspired by the event:

The She Leads summit was an excellent opportunity for us, as female students of A.B. Paterson College, to listen to inspiring keynote speakers and engage in valuable leadership workshops. Overall, the summit was a transformative event and a really enjoyable experience that we had the privilege of attending. - Emilia Wedemeyer

Throughout the day, we learned practical skills like confidently speaking to new people, balancing multiple responsibilities while making room for self-care, and finding gratitude in every experience. The speakers encouraged us to make decisions that align with our own aspirations and values, reinforcing that success is possible when we stay true to ourselves.

The summit left me feeling motivated and equipped to pursue my ambitions. It was a reminder that with the right mindset, we can break barriers, create positive change, and shape the future as leaders in any industry. - Allegra Butler

Thank you to everyone involved who made the event a valuable experience for our students!
