Queensland School Sport Triathlon & Aquathlon State Championships

The Queensland School Sport Triathlon and Aquathlon State Championships in Hervey Bay saw outstanding performances from our Brumbies, with many athletes achieving remarkable results and securing their place at the upcoming Nationals.

Samuel Longhurst (Year 10) and Bennett Longhurst (Year 8) delivered exceptional performances, earning selections for Nationals in Perth from 24-27 March. Bennett was crowned State Champion in the junior division and went on to secure another gold medal in the relay event, where he served as the runner for his team. Sam finished 11th in a highly competitive field.

Riley Grimmer (Year 12) has qualified for the Queensland team and will be heading to Nationals in Rockingham, WA, at the end of March after finishing 14th in his race. Liam Grimmer (Year 10) narrowly missed qualification, finishing 17th, just two spots outside the cut-off.

Imogen Ozoux (Year 8) and Liliana Ozoux (Year 6) also had strong showings. Liliana finished 19th, while Imogen placed 20th in a highly competitive field.

Congratulations to Tobyn O’Hara (Year 10) and Hayden Ozoux (Year 10) for representing our college and competing at the state championships.

All our athletes represented the South Coast Region, which claimed victory in both the Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships! This remarkable achievement reflects the depth of talent within our region.

Best of luck to our Brumbies heading to the School Sport Australia National Championships in Rockingham, WA, from 23-27 March 2025. We look forward to seeing them showcase their talents on the national stage.

Go Brumbies!
