Our young Brumby Netballers started the school holidays with a phenomenal weekend away at the Queensland Primary Schools Cup Netball Championships in Bundaberg. Competing with over 35 schools in Queensland, the girls put into practise what they had been learning and working hard on at training throughout Term 3.
It was red-hot competition for our girls who showed incredible skill, composure, and determination to go through the two-day competition with six wins and four losses in the championship division. The girls had a few nail-bitting games across the weekend, but did us proud to finish ninth out of 52 teams.
Special mention to Ria Yamasaki who was named Brumbies Player of the Tournament.
Congratulations girls on a fabulous result, you did us extremely proud. A huge shout out to coaches, Miss Lawrie and Jodie Ffweks, for everything they did coaching our team in the lead up and across the weekend, as well as Mrs Mitchell who helped manage the team, and Year 10 student, Gabi Cannen for accompanying the team as our umpire for the weekend. Lastly, a massive thank you to all the parents, siblings and friends who travelled to Bundaberg to support our girls from the sidelines all weekend - you certainly played a key role in helping make it a memorable weekend for all!
