Out of the Prep Gates into Year 1

Starting Year 1 is an exciting milestone, bringing new routines, friendships, and greater independence. Carrying their own bag teaches responsibility, while a consistent morning routine helps children get ready smoothly.

In the classroom, students are adapting to new routines. Learning to follow instructions and organise their belongings fosters confidence. Developing their social skills like sharing, listening, and kindness help in making new friends.

A growth mindset is key—embracing challenges and learning from mistakes builds resilience. With support, our students will thrive in their new learning environment!
