Earlier this month a group of our Year 7 - 9 Choir students were afforded the opportunity to travel to Barty's Place in Winton to experience the Festival of Outback Opera as we launched an exciting new partnership with Opera Queensland.
The students performed at the Waltzing Matilda Centre and delighted staff and residents with their performance at the Winton Hospital, before switching places and becoming the audience at two stunning performances.
The Opera Queensland regional touring production of "Do We Need Another Hero?" and their gala event "Dark Sky Serenade", featuring Kate Miller-Heidke, Nina Korbe, Rachelle Durkin, Rosario La Spina, Shaun Brown, and Jason Barry-Smith.
A highlight for our staff and students was the opportunity to workshop with the cast of "Do We Need Another Hero?" and learn from the incredible talent of Opera Queensland.
Engaging with industry professionals like these opens up invaluable opportunities for growth and development that would be impossible to achieve alone.
