We are incredibly proud to share that Year 6 student, Maxim Nadezhdin, presented his Academic Academy Showcase Project at the 2024 Mensa Australia 60th Diamond Jubilee Conference in Sydney this past weekend!
Maxim’s project, the Map App, is a user-friendly map, which he coded to help students and visitors easily navigate A.B. Paterson College. His innovative solution caught the attention of Mensa, the world’s largest high IQ society, which selects its members from the top 2% of the population.
At the conference, Maxim’s Mensa-level brilliance and keen sense of wit were on full display as he presented his work among some of Australia’s brightest minds. His presentation was an outstanding success, and we couldn’t be more proud of his remarkable achievement!
Catherine Riddle, Head of Academic Academy, attended the conference, representing A.B. Paterson College, and shared her thoughts on the experience:
“Maxim's presentation at the Mensa Australian Diamond Jubilee Conference was a powerful reminder of the future problem-solving skills our students are developing through College academic enrichment opportunities such as the 2024 Academic Academy Showcase. Events like this, where bright minds from around the world come together, are crucial for fostering innovation and global collaboration. It was an honour to represent A.B. Paterson College and witness how students like Maxim are preparing to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. This kind of opportunity highlights the importance of empowering our students to engage with and contribute to the wider world."
We are excited to see where Maxim’s potential and passion for innovation take him next and look forward to celebrating more of our students' successes as they continue to shine on the global stage!
