Our Year 11 Business students had a great day at Griffith University participating in the Griffith Business School Ambassadors Program. After an introduction to the world of university study, our students broke off into groups to specialise in areas such as Careers in Commerce, Manipulation 101: Becoming an Agent of Influence and The Lemonade Game.
A highlight was the Trading Room where students were able explore the stock exchange in a real working trading room, home to the largest student-run investment fund (over $500,000!) in Queensland. After a campus tour, where we saw several current Year 12s of the College studying for their Business External Assessment, we split into three groups again to experience workshops covering topics such as a crash course in marketing strategy and eye-tracking, careers in business of sport and preparing for future work.
It was great to also catch up with Old Collegian, Piper Stock (2022) who was a student leader for the day assisting in the running of the event, including a campus tour. Piper is studying a Bachelors of Laws/Political Science and International Relations at Griffith University and enjoyed sharing her journey and experience with our students.
Thank you to everyone who made this excursion possible and to the students for representing the college very well at this program. Please congratulate our newly appointed Griffith Business School Ambassadors!
