A.B. Paterson College is proud to announce that our 2025 production will be the Tony Award winning Disney musical, ‘Newsies!’

Based on the real-life Newsboys’ Strike of 1899, Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys’ expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. The show is a thrilling tale of courage, friendship, and standing up for what’s right. With unforgettable songs and show-stopping dance numbers, Newsies will have you cheering for the underdogs and will inspire you to ‘Seize the Day.’

The production is open to all students currently in Years 7-11. There are a lot of interchangeable roles that can be either male or female, so there’s lots of opportunities for anyone who wants to be involved. Meetings dates, timetables and audition information will be published shortly.
