Designing For Purpose!

Our talented Year 8 students were hard at work towards the end of last term, designing and manufacturing personalised keychains — with a meaningful twist. Each student took on the role of a designer, creating a custom keychain for a real client: a Prep buddy from our Junior School.

Using computer-aided design (CAD) software and additive manufacturing techniques (3D printing), students brought their ideas to life while considering user needs, sustainability, and the importance of purposeful design.

From lightning bolts to dinosaurs and delicate flowers, the final products were proudly delivered during a heart-warming handover visit with their Prep buddies — a highlight for all involved!

This unit exemplifies the power of hands-on, authentic learning experiences that foster creativity and empathy, continuing to nurture our strong and supportive College culture!

A sincere thank you to Mr Trent Davis and Miss Krystal Touma for their incredible support in helping facilitate the organisation of this special cross-campus activity.
