An Evening at Versailles: Year 12 Formal

On 24 February, our Year 12 students graced the Links, Hope Island Resort, stepping into a theme that transported us all to the heart of 18th-century France: ‘A Night in Versailles’. The grandeur and elegance of the occasion were a testament to the spirit and unity of our Year 12 cohort.

Our students, dressed in their finery, captured the essence of Versailles' magnificence. Students looked nothing short of exceptional in their suits and dresses, and reflected the sophistication of their theme, both in their attire, and in their conduct. Their attire was a beautiful homage to an era known for its opulence, with each student adding a touch of modern flair to their historical inspirations.

The evening's arranged dances were a highlight, showcasing our students' grace and coordination. It was heartwarming to see our students embrace the evening, enjoy their meals, and come together to dance together until the final song.

This event was more than just a formal; it was a celebration of the journey our Year 12 students have undertaken together. The speeches delivered, touched upon the growth, challenges, and triumphs experienced over the years, reminding us of the bright futures that lie ahead for these remarkable young individuals.

As we reflect on ‘A Night in Versailles’, we are reminded of the importance of community, tradition, and the pursuit of excellence. Our students have shown themselves to be not only scholars but individuals of character and grace, ready to step into the world beyond our school gates. We are very proud of them.

To our Year 12s, congratulations on a superb evening and my best wishes for the adventures that await. May the memories of this night inspire you to approach the future with the same elegance, ambition, and courage that you have shown us all.

Thank you to all staff who supported the event, and to the Formal planning committee of Year 12 students who worked tirelessly to bring their vision for the evening to life.

Please note that professional photographers were engaged for the evening and their  photos and videos will be available to view very soon.
