Water Polo

Water Polo at the College has a proud history.  The sport has seen steady growth in both popularity and success.  As it involves players from Years 7 through to 12 competing in the same team, water polo immerses players in a vigorously demanding environment, requiring strength, stamina, technical excellence and good tactical awareness.  Being swim-fit is only part of the requirement, so it really is a sport that caters for a wide range of abilities.  The Open Men’s team are the reigning premiers and won the title in 2012 and 2013.  The Open women’s team has placed 4th in 2012 and 3rd in 2013.

The APS Competition comprises eight schools in total and regular seasonal fixtures are played on Fridays.  At the end of the regular season, a finals' day program is held to determine final placings.  The coaches are passionate with differing levels of expertise.  We encourage parents who have experience to come forward and assist in areas of specialisation.

In addition to regular APS fixtures, the College often hosts international schools from around the globe, who tour to the Gold Coast as part of their development.  When we host these schools, it provides further opportunities for our players to continue to develop their game sense and skill set.

Not only do we welcome these touring parties, but we also encourage our own to branch out to commit to playing club Water Polo.
