A.B. PATERSON COLLEGE
GOLD COAST, QUEENSLAND

Hockey

Hockey has been a very successful sport at A.B. Paterson College, as the senior boys’ and girls’ teams have dominated the Associated Private Schools (APS) competition, winning most of the premierships over the last 10 years. The programme currently has four senior girls’ and boys’ teams, and three Junior School teams. They consist of a mixture of highly experienced club players and students completely new to the sport. Hockey is available for students in Semester 1.

The success of hockey at the College can be attributed to the dedication and experience of the coaches, the enthusiastic participation of the players, and especially to the contribution of the experienced players, who form part of the coaching team at training and pass on their skills and enthusiasm for the sport. Past players, some of whom have gained State and National level experience, are often also involved in the coaching process, and their contributions are much valued by coaches and players alike.
