Honjo Higashi Visit - Register to be a Host Family!
Our Sister School, Honjo Higashi High School in Japan, will once again visit A.B. Paterson College this year.
2017 marks the 22nd year of our Sister School program. Thirty students will participate in the program from Friday, 21 July 2017 to Sunday, 30 July 2017. This program provides both the visiting students and A.B. Paterson College families with a wonderful opportunity to share experiences and cultures and to develop lifelong friendships.
Host families would be expected to treat the visiting student as a member of the family during their ten- day stay. If you are interested in hosting a student, please complete and return the attached form.

Labrador Hockey Club Notice
Labrador Hockey Club has vacancies for eight more children in its Tigerstix Cubs division. Cubs is suited to children in Year 1 and Prep. This program is based on skill acquisition, full participation and fun.
It is always held on Saturday mornings from 9 am to 10 am where the children learn skills and compete in a mini game. No mid-week commitment and only a small fee of $60 for the remainder of the season, which runs to August 26. All you need is to bring shin guards and joggers, playing equipment is supplied. Currently the program is conducted at A.B. Paterson College, so if interested come down this Saturday to have a go.

Spot the Bumper Sticker Competition Is Back in Terms 2 & 3
Commencing Monday 24 April.
For 18 weeks, spotters will be out and about on the Gold Coast looking for cars with a College Bumper Sticker* attached.
The competition runs from 24 April to 14 September 2017 **

- Your name. Make, model and colour of vehicle.
1. Each week, two lucky winners will receive $100 off their school fee invoice for Term 3 or Term 4.
2. After two terms, all 36 lucky winners will be invited to an exclusive afternoon tea, where one family will be drawn to receive free tuition *** for their eldest child in Term 4.

Find Your Voice - Public Speaking Workshop
In Term 2 Emma Peterson (past student) will be running some exciting public speaking workshops spanning over 7 weeks. The workshops will focus on managing public speaking fears and assisting students towards excelling in their public speaking endeavours.
Years 5 and 6 students: Tuesday 3.30pm - 4.30pm (Week 3-9) commencing 2 May
Years 7 to 9 students: Tuesday 4.30pm - 5.30pm (Week 3-9) commencing 2 May
Cost is $140 for the 7-week program.
