Fabulous Fashion Fundraiser

The Parents & Friends Fabulous Fashion Fundraiser, this Friday 19 May, is a great night for updating your wardrobe while enjoying your own personal fashion show!

This is an opportunity for our College Mum's, Grandma's, Aunties and Girlfriends to come and enjoy a fun evening of designer fashion, that you can buy at heavily discounted prices, and, take home with you on the night.

Tickets are $25 and include a glass of wine and nibbles, with proceeds going to a local charity.  

There will be wonderful raffles and door prizes to be won.  If you have a business or service that would be of interest, and would like to promote it on the night by donating a raffle prize, please email Trudi or Katy on the below address.

Honjo Higashi Visit - Register to be a Host Family!

Our Sister School, Honjo Higashi High School in Japan, will once again visit A.B. Paterson College this year.

2017 marks the 22nd year of our Sister School program.  Thirty students will participate in the program from Friday, 21 July 2017 to Sunday, 30 July 2017. This program provides both the visiting students and A.B. Paterson College families with a wonderful opportunity to share experiences and cultures and to develop lifelong friendships.

Host families would be expected to treat the visiting student as a member of the family during their ten- day stay.  If you are interested in hosting a student, please complete and return the attached form.

Chess Club Update - Inter-School Chess Competition for Junior School

Gardiner Chess will be holding the Term 2 Tournament for Gold Coast Primary North Division on Tuesday, 13 June, at Pacific Pines State School Hall.

Gardiner Chess run the Official Queensland Inter-School Chess tournaments on behalf of the Chess Association of Queensland (CAQ). CAQ aims to foster junior development and event opportunities for young chess players across Queensland. The inter-school competitions are open to all schools and all students, in order to promote district wide competition and player challenge.

Gardiner Chess will be breaking the tournament up into multiple levels/divisions according to player proficiency, so that all players are challenged at their specific level of expertise. There will be medals for the top individuals and teams, along with the merit ribbons for those players scoring the required amount within the levelled divisions. A.B. Paterson College’s Junior Chess Club are inviting students within the intermediate and advanced groups to enjoy a day of competitive chess tournaments.

If you have any questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact:

Keep an eye out for Junior Chess Club parent letters and permission notes, which will be distributed to Chess Club students within intermediate and advanced groups at the next club session. Additional copies may be collected from Monika Curry in the Student Services Office after Monday.

Spot the Bumper Sticker Competition Information

The competition runs from 24 April to 14 September 2017 **

For 18 weeks, spotters will be out and about on the Gold Coast looking for cars with a College Bumper Sticker* attached. 

If you registered for the competition in 2016 you must register AGAIN for 2017!

1. Each week, two lucky winners will receive $100 off their school fee invoice for Term 3 or Term 4.

2. After two terms, all 36 lucky winners will be invited to an exclusive afternoon tea, where one family will be drawn to receive free tuition *** for their eldest child in Term 4.

To improve our service to parents, the College has reviewed the Student Services phone number to enable phone queries to be directed to the relevant area of the College.

Parents calling Students Services on 55 614 137 will notice that this number now has redirection options:

  • 1. Student Absences;
  • 2. Junior School enquiries;
  • 3. Senior School enquiries; and
  • 4. Sport and Co-curricular Activities.

Please note that Student Services also has an email address for reporting student absences at studentabsences@abpat.qld.edu.au
