CONGRATULATIONS to our Year 11 student, Dasha Gorshechnikova-Illich!

Dasha and her eight-girl Australian Junior Synchronised Swimming Team, have just returned from the US where they competed at the FINA World Series American Open in New York.

The girls achieved an unbelievable result at the competition and took first place in the Junior Team Routine and returned to Australia with a Gold Medal.

Dasha had an amazing experience, competing and making friends with other Synchronised Swimming teams from 11 American States and 13 countries from all over the world including - Germany, Israel, Puerto Rico, Slovakia, Spain and Argentina.

Before leaving for the competition, Dasha and her team attended an intensive 16 day training camp held at the Chandler Aquatic Centre in Brisbane.

After all the hard work and being away from home and school for over four weeks, Dasha is now very excited to be back home and to be able to share her experience with her school mates.

In 2018, Dasha and her team mates hope to qualify to compete at the Oceania Championships held in Papua New Guinea and also at the Junior Worlds Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary.
