On 31 May, students from Years 4 – 6 gathered at the Lilly Pilly Learning Centre to make their own Origami artwork in the theme of TANABATA, the Japanese Star Festival.
With the assistance of volunteers from the Years 10 and 11 Japanese class, they carefully constructed delicately shaped stars, lanterns and streamers. This was the fourth meeting of our monthly lunchtime Origami Club and we have a steady number of regular students, who can now add their own individuality to their work.
Thank you to all participating students, Senior School helpers and our Teacher Librarian, Ms Melinda Parkinson, whose assistance greatly helped make the event successful.
The next Origami Club is scheduled for Wednesday, 26 July. All Years 4 – 6 students are welcome.
