Year 5 Explore Maroochydore

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a great experience we all had on our first ever Year 5 camp. We spent three days at the beautiful waterfront conference centre in Maroochydore and what a tremendous adventure it was for all of us.

Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast provided the setting for Year 5 students to explore beautiful beaches and go on riverside walks, all whilst undertaking leadership and teamwork challenges with the Character Builders team.

The children used their cooperation skills and resilience to build sand sculptures that rival the displays at Swell, balloon towers that put the Eiffel Tower to shame and competed in their very own mini Olympics.

It was the first time away from home for many of our students and they all handled themselves wonderfully, gaining many compliments on their manners and behaviours from all involved. They even ate the food with (almost) no complaints!

All in all, I think we can agree the first ever Year 5 camp was a great success and we can continue to be very proud of our students here at A.B. Paterson College. The Year 5 teachers are already counting down the days until next year!
