Farewell to Mrs Karen Roman

Today the College has farewelled Mrs Karen Roman, Assistant Principal: Junior School. Mrs Roman has been a member of the College staff for almost 10 years and will be greatly missed by all staff and students.

During her time at the College, Mrs Roman has been a class teacher, an e-mentor, a Deputy Head of the Junior School and finally Head of Junior School/Assistant Principal. During each of Mrs Roman’s positions at the College she has demonstrated her integrity and her passion for teaching, learning and the pastoral care of students in her care. Mrs Roman has been an exceptional leader and, whilst we wish her well for the next chapter of her career adventure, we will continue to value the positive influence she has had on the College culture.

Mrs Roman has shown us that a legacy is not leaving something for people. It's leaving something in people. I know that many of the students whose lives she has touched, and the staff whose lives and careers she has enriched, will forever remember her leadership and care during her time with us at A.B. Paterson College.

It was a delight to see our students performing in the choir as well as reciting some Australian poetry for Mrs Roman today. A big thank you to Max Tyler of Year 12 and Addison Selby of Year 6 for offering their lovely reflections for Mrs Roman on behalf of the students.

Finally, on behalf of the Senior Leadership Team and all College staff, we thank you Karen for being an exceptional leader and mentor to us all.

Meagan King
Director of Teaching, Learning and Academic Performance
