The Oscar goes to...

Year 7 Spanish Language students were encouraged to tap into their creative minds, explore their acting skills and put on an Academy Award-winning performance for their peers.

The Oscar challenge was the culmination of a year’s work by these talented students, who have demonstrated their Spanish-speaking skills in a variety of situations, as if they were in a Hispanic country.

The students created their own scenarios and devised role-plays based on the language learnt in the classroom. Classmates formed a judging panel and awarded prizes, based the level of difficulty and accuracy of Spanish skills utilised.

The scenes were, of course, worthy of an Oscar – move over Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem!
