Year 6 Cohort Reflects on 2018

Are you ready? This is the question our cohort is in the process of answering. Believe it or not, many students replied with a confident NO early in Term 1. Now, in Term 4, we think many will answer with a self-assured YES!

The Year 6 cohort of 2018 has proven to be the epitome of teamwork. The students have demonstrated, on numerous occasions, their understanding of teamwork and the value in working together to support each other, as they strive to achieve their personal goals - early in Term 1, when learning about what it means to be a leader; Term 2, when they rallied together to organise a sausage sizzle for the Royal Flying Doctor Service; and Term 3 when everyone represented themselves impeccably on the Winton Tour. Now, in Term 4, they are still supporting one another as they begin to reflect on their Junior School years and prepare themselves for their next learning journey.

We asked the cohort to reflect on a memorable moment from the past year. Here is what some had to say:

A memorable moment for me was when I was given a lead role in the musical. Chelsea Howell

When I was chosen to throw the hat into the billabong on behalf of the cohort. Georgia Coward

Placing 2nd at the Australian Swimming Championships in Hobart. Lachlan Window

A memory of mine is when everyone was emotional leaving their families to go on the Winton Tour. We were all so happy we went, it was a great tour. Hudson Chard

I have really enjoyed having the one class… where I am familiar with everyone and we know how each other behaves. Lachlan Elliott

Meeting my Prep Buddy and seeing them regularly… I loved this. Amana Islam

I really enjoyed when our house leaders lead us in a cohort activity on Taylor-Dostal Oval. Jessica Belinha

I loved the bus trips, chatting with my friends and making new friends. Arnika Krienke

Being away on a long excursion with the whole cohort and making new friends. Mieka Siganto

At the swimming carnival when Wright House stood up and cheered everyone else to swim their best. Cate Ellwood

Here’s to another term of exciting experiences as we prepare for transition!
