Equestrian States Wrap-up

Congratulations to three members of the College Equestrian Team who have had lots of success at the 2018 Interschool Equestrian States in various disciplines and will now compete at the National Championships in Victoria this October.

During the holidays, I was honoured to compete at State Championships for equestrian (Show Jumping) held in Caboolture, over three days. I placed 2nd overall, which means I was also selected to compete at the Australian Interschool Championships (Nationals) held in Werribee, Victoria in October, which I am extremely excited for and eager to attend.

I competed in the 2018 State Interschool Championships for eventing. As a Year 12 student, this is unfortunately the last year I will be able to represent our College. I was fortunate to walk away from States as the 2018 Preliminary State Eventing Champion, and will now compete for Queensland at Nationals, later this year.

Meanwhile, Year 5 student, Phoebe Blanc (pictured right), had a very competitive and successful State Championships on her two ponies, Kieran and Oscar, placing 5th overall in Primary Show Hack and 8th overall in the Primary Hunter class.

She also walked away with Reserve Champion Primary Showman, riding Rhaeadr Park Oscar. This qualified Phoebe to compete at Werribee for the Queensland National Team – a fantastic result and great reward for her efforts.
