Australian Schools Swimming Championships

Congratulations to Jonas Longhurst and Lachlan Window who recently represented Queensland at the Australian School Swimming Championships in Hobart (179 member team, aged 10-19 years ).

Both boys notched up numerous personal best times and qualified through their respective heat swims to make the finals (Top 8 in Australia).

Lachlan Window

  • Boys’ 12 years 50m Freestyle:  Qualified 3rd fastest for the final and went on to finish 2nd for the silver medal in the final in a time of 28.11seconds.
  • Boys’ 12 years 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay: As a member of the four strong Queensland team, Lachlan was part of a Gold Medal Winning performance.

Jonas Longhurst

  • Boys’ 11 years 50m Breaststroke: Qualified 8th through the heats into the final and retained the same position finishing 8th in the final.
  • Boys’ 11 years 4 x 50m Medley Relay: As the breaststroke swimmer in the boys’ 10 years medley relay, Jonas helped the Queensland team into 4th position in the final.

Representing at this level takes a massive commitment and many long hours churning up and down the College pool.

Congratulations boys – an amazing experience and fantastic results!
