We would like to welcome everybody back to Term 2 and hope you had a safe and fun holiday.
This term Lawson House will be busy raising funds in support of the Salvation Army’s annual Red Shield Appeal. The Red Shield Appeal is dedicated to helping people who are homeless or escaping violence, trapped in addiction or battling mental illness, and those affected by natural disasters or financial troubles.
Lawson House has been dedicated to supporting this worthy cause for many years, and we have developed a strong connection with Robert and Diane Davies from the Salvation Army, as a result of our outstanding past fundraising efforts.
As part of the Year 12s A.B. Positive initiative, everyone can help to support this worthy cause through the Lawson House fundraising events, taking place throughout the term.
For the Senior School, there will be a neon-themed disco, held in the Lower Maths building on 25 May, 6.30 – 8.30pm, with a DJ, face painting and food and beverages. During lunch times in Chisholm Courtyard, Lawson students are currently selling $10 tickets for the disco.
For the Junior School, we are organising a colouring-in competition, with prizes to be won and presented at the End of Term Assembly. To enter the competition, students will need to colour/decorate one of the pictures we will provide and submit it with a gold coin donation.
We are pleased to, again, be raising funds for such a great cause, and we look forward to seeing you at the disco or entering the colouring competition. Thank you in advance for your support of the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal, whose mission is to bring hope to those who need it most.
