Swimming Club’s New Starts and Best Swims

Last Saturday, eight of the Swimming Club’s competitive swimmers competed at the 2018 Somerset Spring Meet (pictured above).

Some swimmers were chasing qualifying times for the upcoming Queensland Sprint Championships being held on 17-18 February, or testing new distances for the State School Qualifying Standards.

The Club now has a total of eight swimmers competing in the Sprint Championships – some for the first time!

At the Somerset Spring Meet, swimmers swam in a total of 36 events and achieved 20 Personal Bests. Between them, they won five Gold, two Silver and two Bronze medals. Well done team! A special mention goes to Hugo who competed in his first events for the Club.

On Sunday, 13 of the Club’s swimmers (pictured above) competed at the Beaudesert Development Meet. This was hugely successful for all our swimmers, with 35 Personal Best times recorded across 56 events. We were particularly pleased with four new swimmers who competed at their first meet. Huge congratulations to Harrison, Lachlan, Hannah Mason and Keerti Nayak on their success.

Our swimmers brought home 11 first, 11 second and 12 third placings!

A very proud weekend for our Swimming Club!
