Golden Hearts Christmas at Animal Welfare League

We are fortunate to witness so many magical moments at A.B. Paterson College, and at Golden Hearts Christmas with Ita Buttrose at the Animal Welfare League Qld was certainly magical.

The courtesy, maturity and talent of our Years 5 and 6 Choristers was a joy to watch, as they helped the audience to their seats, then waited on guests, before entertaining them.

They were rewarded with the opportunity to meet an Australian legend - journalist, businesswoman, television personality and author, Ita Buttrose. Ita is an Ambassador for Golden Hearts, a program supporting seniors and older pets.

After saying ‘hello’ to the four-legged residents, and Santa, the students declared the day ‘the best ever’, while the AWL indicated they could not have held the event without the support of our student volunteers.

Coverage of the event appeared on 9 News Gold Coast and 7 News Gold Coast on Thursday evening.

Thank you to our musical and theatre team, Sharyn Walker-Joyce, Rachel Newcombe, Lexene Marquenie, Marshall McAdam, Laura Parkinson and Craig Rickard for the stunning showcase, and to Director of Community Relations and Development, Nikki Ward.
