Touch Football News

All Schools Competition:

The Open Boys had their first preliminary All Schools’ Touch Football game this week against Aquinas College. Our boys’ team started out strongly, but the Aquinas team managed to dominate them early and, unfortunately, our team went down 1 – 5. They will play the rest of their pool games at the competition in October.

Queensland 13 – 15 years Secondary Touch Football Championships – Rockhampton

Emelia Surch was selected in the Under 15 South Coast Touch Football team that competed at the Queensland 13-15 years’ Touch Football Championships in Rockhampton at the end of July. Her team won the plate series.

Junior State Championships – Townsville

Emelia competed at the Junior State Touch Football Championships, which were held in Townsville over the weekend. She had a roller coaster tournament, fighting illness leading up to and during the tournament and, unfortunately, not being able to play in her team’s semi-final. She also broke her finger, but true to her fighting spirit, fought on and ended up being selected for the Titans Elite 8, which is a huge achievement. Emelia will now go into camp next March as part of that development squad.

Congratulations, Emelia, on your Touch Football achievements so far this year!!
