Prep ‘Under the Sea’ Ball

On Friday, 18 August, the May Gibbs Courtyard was transformed into an ‘underwater’ arena as the Prep students, their families and teachers celebrated this annual, eagerly anticipated calendar event. The Prep Ball Parent Committee worked tirelessly and spent many weeks planning for this wonderful event. These hardworking parents were seen working busily on Friday, preparing and creating an amazing ‘underwater’ scene for the arrival of the very excited Prep children!

All Prep students and their families eagerly arrived at 5pm, revealing a wide variety of ‘Under the Sea’ characters. There were pirates, sharks, mermaids, fish, jellyfish, octopus, sailors, swimmers and scuba divers, just to name a few. It was not just the Preppies who dressed up, however, parents and teachers also joined in on the fun!

The children thoroughly enjoyed the evening as they danced and sang along to their favourite songs and ‘boogied’ under the sea! Favourite songs such as YMCA and Gangnam Style attracted great numbers to the sea floor, where students could be seen busting their moves! At one stage, there was even a dance-off between the Prep girls and Prep boys – this provided many giggles! During the evening, all students were treated to yummy treats such as snow cones, pizzas, macaroons and cake pops!

The Prep staff would like to say a massive thank you to the Prep Ball Parent Committee, who organised and ran this event. Thank you to all Prep families for your support in making this wonderful night such a roaring success.
