World Challenge 2017 Training

The November departure date is fast approaching for A.B. Paterson College intrepid travellers on the 2017 World Challenge team, bound for Fiji.

Apart from fundraising, there is plenty to do to get the mind and body prepared for this life-changing adventure.

Over the weekend, sixteen Year 10 and 11 students, accompanied by Mr Andrew Sole and Miss Hope Foster, attended a training camp in Mount Barney National Park in the Gold Coast hinterland.

The training expedition weekend was a demanding programme for all, and a great opportunity to learn about the forthcoming overseas expedition.

Students were tested, as part of a number of scenarios, on how to cope with a range of potential situations they may encounter. The weekend included two mini expeditions where groups camped out overnight, engaged in physical activities, budgeted for food and cooked for themselves.

The World Challenge team is counting down the sleeps. Find out more about their upcoming trek at www.worldchallenge.com.au/destinations/fiji/
